I’m Steve Shepard, founder of the Shepard Communications Group. 

A good friend recently said something funny to me:

“I just realized that you’ve figured out how to make a good living by doing your hobbies.”

It’s true. I’m a speaker, a writer, a photographer, a ‘technology demystifier,’ and a producer of video and audio media—all things I love doing. What ties all “my hobbies” together is that I’m a storyteller. Whether through keynotes, speeches and educational programs, my writing, my images, the videos I produce, or my Podcasts, I tell stories. Why? To simplify the complex. To inspire. To challenge the status quo. To take your thinking in new directions. To tell the story.

The work I do is as diverse as the places I have the privilege to visit. In the First World, I work with executives to develop competitive strategies for organizational success, and with their employees to sharpen their technical sales and marketing skills. 

In the Developing World, I work with countries and companies that are often building technology infrastructure for the very first time. This is the work I love, because it happens in places where I get to be the minority—something everyone should experience—and where, at the end of the day, I can take a step back and see the impact I’ve had.
